Fully Engaged

Meetings every two weeks, Management company still technically in place, but completely absent, locks being changed, parents trying to take control, deteriorating finances, heavy debt, audits, and more.

Will Pinellas County Tax Payers Have This To Look Forward To?

None of us knows if the parents will be able to force a reorganization and salvage Windsor prep and East Windsor Middle School. I'm sure they are working very hard to do so, and oddly, I actually sort of wish them luck.
That said, I wonder, if their efforts fail, is this what we will all have to expect....

Strong Arm Tactics

So, the hot mess that is Windsor Prep/ East Windsor Middle Academy may have caught a wee break, in that the Pinellas County school district's director of charter schools and home education, Rick Wolfe, is trying to win them an extension until May 18, to submit their "Corrective Action Plan.
Remember, they were given until yesterday, April 5, to come up with an acceptable "fix it plan",or face the districts' withdrawing its sponsorship of the charter

Apparently the drafts they submitted Friday were too vague ( i.e. poorly done) when it came to detailing how they correct things, other than that they were trying to disassociate from Newpoint Education Partners.
  Shocker...

D-Day Looming

Well, tomorrow is D-day for the "Rescue Plan" ordered to be submitted by the school, to the Pinellas County School Board.

Wonder how that is going to go?
Will they manage to convince the School Board not to revoke the Charter?
Will they let Alliance Ed. of Florida take over, or will they award the management of the really an F but awarded an unwarranted C school Windsor Prep, and it's partner school East Windsor Middle, to one of the other sharks management companies circling the water that has expressed an interest?
Will they shutter the whole scam operation at the end of the school year and just reorganize, apply for a new charter, and reopen as a new school to bilk the tax payers of Pinellas County out of millions more tax dollars?
  Who Knows! So much DRAMA!

MILLIONS Of Tax Dollars

Well all you bunnies and chickadees...Spring Break is officially over, and it's back to reality for all of you.

Last night's Board Meeting was a real eye opener for some, but in reality, it shouldn't have been.

Meeting Where We Learned We Left The Frying Pan For The Fire

Well the much anticipated meeting has taken place, and boy I bet everyone feels just so darn reassured...or maube not.

What we do know is $800,000 plus are unaccounted for!!  And that is just what has been discovered so far.

Meeting

This Blogger would love to have been a fly on the wall at tonight's meeting. We neighbors are all looking forward to hearing the update from Mark Douglas  on WFLA.

I've been doing some digging myself. This new company Alliance Education Services really has their information locked down, but the dots are all there to connect if you're patient ( and determined).

I wonder if they were more forthcoming at the meeting, and how many questions were really answered...or there more questions now as a result?

Busy Saturday

Pretty full parking lot at the "Last Earned Grade Was An F" school Windsor Prep today. It's Saturday, so no school....wonder what's up?

File shredding? Resume writing workshop for the teachers? Golly gumdrops...if one could only be a fly on the wall.

You Ask, They Answer

So, today was the deadline for the response to the letter sent sent by the Pinellas School Board to Windsor Prep, and East Windsor's board.

Surprisingly, they answered on time. Not surprisingly, the response pushed back, and tried to justify all wrongs.

Board Member Resigns = Rat on a Sinking Ship???

In yet another new development in the ongoing drama of "last earned grade was an F'" Windsor prep, and East Windsor Middle School's management and oversight, we have the resignation of one of the board members.

Let The Games Begin

First meeting cancelled rescheduled...cause suddenly the kids education matters..... TAMPA BAY TIMES

Meeting

Wouldn't it have been interesting to have been a fly on the wall during the meeting at the school tonight?

As the parking lot empties, you have to wonder, do the parents and/or staff feel any more secure with this new alliance...with Alliance Education Services?

Someone on the PTA's FaceBook page looks like they are finally doing some research, and making some connections.

Of course their efforts, are about four years too late, now aren't they? Oh well, baby steps I suppose.

So for now I may just sit back and see what they find. I've been digging, but heck, I just get attacked and told I'm a mean person when I put the info out there. Let's see what they come up with.

But for now, entertain yourself by reading reviews left on the Facebook page for their AGABroward County school:  https://www.facebook.com/AGABroward/reviews/

Did They Do Their Homework?

Just got done reading an interesting article in the  TampaBay Times about the acquisition of Newpoint Education Partners by Alliance Education Services.

Newpoint Giving Up...Or Are They?

So, according to WFLA Newpoint Education Partners has announced that   " it is quitting and handing over all management to a nonprofit organization “in the best interest of the students, parents and the schools.” "

What an interesting development. I am especially intrigued by Mr Douglas reporting that Newpoint Education Partners "has been acquired" by Alliance Education Services, Inc. I wonder how that works..a for profit being taken over by a non profit. Hmmmm...

To cite the article: The nonprofit company taking over Newpoint’s charter schools, Alliance Education Services Inc., was formed by Jennifer Lucas and Justin Matthews in 2013 and is currently operated by Jonathan Simon, Victor Rebman and Christy Bryans in Sarasota, according to state records."
Rebman was formerly associated with Imagine Schools in Northport, a charter school management company that has been the focus of financial controversy in the past. Jennifer Lucas, one of the Alliance leaders scheduled to meet with parents Friday, was formerly employed by an Imagine charter school in Manatee County. Justin Mathews, another Alliance leader scheduled to meet with parents at Windsor Prep, was also formerly employed by an Imagine school in Northport and later became entangled in a lawsuit with Imagine."

Now...funny enough, Newpoint/Windsor originally hired Jessica Clements as the Principal of Windsor Prep and East Windsor. Previously she had worked for Imagine Schools

It all just seems a little cozy, now doesn't it? And consider too...Newpoint Education Partners is all about the money, the moolah, the all mighty cashola. Do you really think this is all on the up and up? These guys are masters at the game after all.
Now I know that there are so many who will condemn and criticize me for saying that, but who was 100% correct in everything they said about this school/dirty operation all along?

That's Right...This Humble Blogger.
Here's a link to the new company Alliance Education Services, Inc. It's a pretty slick site, and they look good on paper...but then so do Newpoint.
