Public? Charter? A Big Old Mess?

I can not say how  entertaining  interesting it has been reading these news stories over the last few days.
The scramble is really on at the joke that is Windsor Prep and East Windsor Middle, and the Hope For Windsor crowd.

I'm going to keep this post short, and not so sweet, allowing, for the most part, the news article and reports to speak for themselves.

The Tampa Bay Times report from yesterday ( LINK ) outlines what's been going on.
"...Chris Wenzel, the board chair overseeing the two St. Petersburg charter schools, announced at a board meeting Thursday that he was approached by Pinellas County Schools superintendent Mike Grego with a proposal that the district would absorb the two schools effective Aug. 1 and turn the schools into a "project-based learning lab environment" if the schools agreed to terminate their charters...
Wenzel said Grego offered to grandfather in the students at Windsor Prep and East Windsor and would give preference to the schools' teachers for jobs at the new school, which would be operated like a magnet school. Wenzel said Grego told him he would need to have the notice to terminate the contract by Friday in order to call a special workshop after the School Board's regularly scheduled board meeting on Tuesday..."

Interesting, huh? First they try selling their souls to companies that are as dirty as Newpoint, and now they are considering selling themselves to the entity they have denigrated and said they could never consider for their precious kiddos.

Gee it must be so hard having such high values and standards.(note the tongue firmly planted in cheek)

What I especially love though is the arrogance they all still hold onto. Here the Pinellas County School Board is trying to help you and throw you a bone, and yet the  parents at these two true failure factories are still trying to be in control:
"....To quell fears about having the offer in writing, Wenzel motioned to draft a letter to Grego that would agree to terminating the schools' charters if certain demands are met, which include keeping the school's board members in an advisory capacity to ease the transition and keeping the name of the school and mascot in addition to prioritizing current students and staff.
Should the district not meet the demands of the school, Wenzel said he would call an emergency board meeting and discuss the schools' options..."
LIKE YOU HAVE A CHOICE AT THIS POINT LOLOLOLOL
Again..where were all of you "hopeful" parents and your "interest" over the last three years as Newpoint and these schools were ripping off the tax payers and failing your children?

And now you think you're going to pressure the School Board to do things your way?

Your way brought you to this juncture...let the PCSB fix it.
