You Couldn't Have Managed This Before? (updated)

Update: I personally felt that the first day seemed to go better, but after viewing a video, seeing a few pictures, the BayNews9 story, and talking to my neighbors I guess I was wrong.
In my defense I was not home for part of the first or second days, so I stand corrected.

Original post:
Well, in the interest of fairness, I will say things seem to have gone much better this first day of school than has done in the past.

No fights reported so far, so that's exciting.

There were a few issues with the culdesac across from the entrance being jammed up. Wish parents could remember that Windsor neighbors need to be able to get out for work too.

And of course, parents had to park on the sides of the road, which also meant that they don't care that they completely blocked the hydrants in. This from a neighbor that left early,  and then from another coming in about a half hour later.

Another neighbor reported being cut off pretty badly by a parent pulling out from having been parked on the side of the road near 54th Avenue.

So far mailboxes all appear to be standing. Clearly that's a better first day than the last couple of years.

And best of all, at least for today, traffic kept moving.

We do have two videos, but that will wait. I may not even post them if things keep on this way.

For three solid years, the school year has turned our neighborhood into a nightmare, essentially holding it hostage. Why could the school not have handled things better all along? I guess that's a question we will never get an answer to.

Maybe it's the new Principal. That Jessica Clements was a doozy after all. If it is the influence of the new Principal, then kudos to her. There was NEVER any reason for things to have escalated as they did.

Hopefully under her guidance the "F" school Windsor Prep will improve, and East Windsor Middle will not fail.

Hopefully, if she is the cause, the teachers will gain a little class, and begin to teach a lot more effectively. Goodness knows the kids deserve and need that.

Perhaps it was so many of the residents of this neighborhood persisting in our fight for our rights.

Perhaps even, this simple blog exerted some small amount of pressure. What ever the cause, hopefully things will improve from this point.

Obeying traffic laws, and having respect for your neighbors goes a long way after all.

Are things getting better? Time will tell I suppose, but for now, well played.
