Yawn. More Comments and Some Facts *With 2 Updates*

So today I wake up to more lovely comments. All were badly phrased, with improperly used words, poor spelling, no sentence structure, etc. Clearly the products of the lovely "Last EARNED grade was an F but have now been granted a C" school Windsor Prep.

First, lets touch on that shiny, new, UNEARNED grade of C.
Some of these idiots who so often comment here are under the impression that Charter Schools should not be graded. WRONG. It is in their charter agreement, and per the State of Florida requirements, that the students undergo testing and that the school be graded based on the test scores.

Windsor Prep, like most Newpoint schools, EARNED an F. They have been a school for three years and still can not get it together. BUT, rather than focus on improving and doing the best they could for the kids who were already enrolled there, they instead decided to expand and open East Windsor Middle School. Because two schools sucking are always better than one.

Last year, schools across the state had well documented issues with the approved new testing. Pinellas, like many districts suspended testing, and the State was forced to acknowledge the severe deficiencies with the testing program.

To mollify parents, districts, and schools, it was determined that the best course of action would be to essentially give schools credit for improvement even when there was absolutely NO PROOF THEY HAD IN FACT IMPROVED, due to the fact that the new testing didn't mesh with previous years.

These articles help to explain it: Tampa Bay Times,   Tampa bay Times , and Tampa Bay Times
"What's different about these new grades?
These grades will not include learning gains from year to year because the tests students took in 2015 were different from the ones they took in 2014, making comparisons impossible. Lacking this key data, lawmakers said the grades would not be used to penalize schools.
This year also marks the elimination of the "safety net" that prevented schools from seeing their grades drop more than one level. Implemented in 2013, the safety net was thought by some to undermine the integrity of the grading system.
Other changes include a provision to count only the grading components for which a school had enough data, instead of giving schools a zero for those areas that were lacking; and a redefinition of a school's lowest performing students to include children who might have scored a "satisfactory" Level 3 for the first time."
So that "C" is like one of those participation trophies that they arbitrarily hand out to kids just for showing up and playing, rather than a real trophy given to  winners who earn them
Yay for all of you guys for being so proud of your school's mediocrity!
Now, let's take a moment to admire the newest round of comments left. You parents and teachers should all sit back and admire the quality of writing and expressions of thought, and pat yourselves on your collective backs for the great job this school is doing in turning out these little scholars:
1st : "Also we are not an f school this is coming from the school staff that we are a c school"
2nd: "First of all, its Lynsey now aren;t you great at spelling. To be honest i don;t really care if I'm "great at spelling" or whatever or not. This school is not a "F" school its a C and yes were gonna take it as a "big thing" because apparently to you its not, but maybe were only a C school because weve only been open for 2 years. oh yeah! if this school is "so bad" then why isent it shut down by now? huh? "

Now really dear readers, don't the above comments really speak for themselves and the quality that this school is churning out? They just keep making my points for me.
*Update: Priscilla M. has left a charming couple of comments...
"YOU R AN IDIOT AND I BET YOUR A UGLY LITTLE BITCH WHO IS A BULLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1"  and "YOU NEED TO STOP ALL OF THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Clever little over caffeinated monkey, aren't you Prissy? *
2nd update:
Another comment has been left, but this time the comment was polite and even apologetic:  " I would like to apologize on behalf of my schoolmates. I'm extremely embarrassed on their behalf"

Thank you. How sad that a good kid has to be embarrassed and trying to apologize for the behavior of others. You are not responsible, but it is nice, after dealing with nastiness, to be reminded that there are some good kids at this school, and who deserve better.
